Referrals
Stop asking for Referrals!

In our line of business we have all been taught to ask for referrals. I mean who doesn’t prefer a passed along name to cold calling? I understand the reason behind it certainly but when it comes to getting a referral, do you really want one that you have had to ask for?
If you are providing valuable service to people they can’t wait to refer! Someone passing along your name shouldn’t be doing it because you asked them to but because they believe in your service. Not only do you run the risk of making your client uncomfortable by asking them for a referral but as a person trying to position yourself as a valuable resource do you really want to jeopardize your credibility by asking for clients?
In a world where we are surrounded by poor service, provide your clients with a reason to refer you – inspire them to pass your name on.
